    Retired local government accountant who has been involved with school governance for over twenty years at two primary and one secondary school. Currently a governor at two of schools. In February 2016 he completed four terms as a Chair of an IEB at a primary school in North Birmingham that was successfully transferred to an academy chain. Recently been invited to join the IEB of a secondary school in South Birmingham.

    A registered chiropractor for over ten years in Birmingham having two chiropractic businesses in the city. She has a keen interest in physical and mental well being linked to her chiropractice. Part of her current role is being involved in chiropractic research for young children and adults and the impact on their development, particularly with links to brain function and diet. She has worked with vulnerable woman in Birmingham city to rehabilitate them into the community. Her business provides well-being services for staff in schools, that includes coaching to support areas such as advice on ‘work life balance’.

    A Head Teacher and a highly experienced leader at St Mary’s Teaching school for 20 years where she has led the school from inadequate to outstanding. As a successful NLE she has supported a number of schools to rapidly improve. As Executive Head Teacher of St Michael’s Primary School she was strategic in it improving rapidly from inadequate to good. She has worked closely with the Local Authority in supporting the School Improvement Group and was commissioned by the Birmingham Local Authority to deliver some of the statutory requirements regarding RI. Included in her areas of expertise is strong data analysis and leading school reviews.

    A Financial Consultant and who has worked for the Local Authority for approximately 20 years with the last 8 years in the Education Department supporting schools with the Local Management of Schools. Matthew is an experienced schools Financial Consultant and Business Manager who has worked with the drb company for over 11 years supporting both secondary and primary schools.

  • Mrs Barbara Jacques

    A long career as an Area Manager in schools catering services for Birmingham City Council. She has been responsible for managing staff, conducting appraisals as well as chairing hearings and disciplinaries. Most recently she has been working in NHS hospitals. A director of her own domestic hygiene business. Has been a successful Chair of Governors of an outstanding primary school and Vice Chair of another outstanding primary school in Birmingham. She has a deep understanding of the role of all stakeholders in primary schools to secure a good education for children and continual school improvement. She also has significant experience of engaging with diverse communities and currently being the lead safeguarding governor.
